Dylan Gee

Full-Stack Developer

About

Hi, I'm Dylan Gee, a web developer with experience in full-stack development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS), Python, Java, PHP, jQuery, and C#. I have a BSc Honours in Biotechnology, where I first used programming to create heatmaps and graphs representing gene occurrences. I consider myself a good all-round programmer and I'm keen to work in any part of the development process.

I am a reliable individual who is always looking to learn and grow. I welcome feedback, whether it's positive or negative, as I believe it helps me improve as a developer. I've worked within teams many times throughout my life, whether it's in my job or education. I'm used to collaboration and working towards a shared purpose. I believe I'm a team player who is always ready to offer up ideas and opinions as well as listen to those around me.

I've also worked on large projects by myself, such as my university dissertation and two web applications during my full-stack developer course. I believe my individual work shows I'm a capable individual who can plan, perform, and complete tasks set to me. I believe I can be an asset to any team due to my skills in collaborative and individual work.

Northumbria University

  • Utilised various systems and applications to conduct research and experiments
  • Used applications that demanded time, logic, and reasoning. Among these applications were 3D protein modelling, genetic sequencing software, and creating phylogenetic trees
  • Employed R to generate several graphics based on a vast database of genes. This involved processing the entire database through a program to produce the graphics
  • Used Python to automate the process of web scraping a list of genus entries and determining the gene's relation to each genus
  • Working within teams to complete research
  • Working independently on projects

Coding Traineeship

2022 - 2023
  • Completed courses in Full-Stack development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and relevant frameworks, Python, Java, PHP, C#, and JQuery
